Aged Concrete Bridge Abutments

This aged concrete abutment set has put in lots of work over the years and will soon need to be repaired or replaced. In the meantime, it would make a great addition to your layout or diorama as a working abutment or as an abandoned piece to add history to your scene.

We began by laying scale accurate forming boards over this classic abutment design. Then came time for aging in the way of cracks, erosion and lots of exposure to the elements! Each abutment in this set has its own unique aged pattern and patched areas to add to the overall realism.

For these abutments, we wanted more texture to show to simulate an older and almost powdery face. The accentuated texture here was achieved by using a light gray weathering powder, almost the color of the gypsum.

Originally designed for the Micron Art's Deck Box Girder bridge, when used with a different bridge you may need to add a styrene or wood shim to match your track height.

Product Details:

• Material: Abutments are cast in high strength gypsum and oven cured for maximize durability.
• Color: Natural gray gypsum color.
• Height 1: From the base to the “lower shelf”, 1.25″.
• Height 2: From the base to the “upper shelf”, 1.75″.
